A ranch owner stood beside a famous horse and made an offer to the crowd:
“Whoever rides this horse wins $1,000,000.”
People watched in silence, afraid to try.
Then a little girl stepped forward.
She walked straight to the horse and wrapped her arms around him.
The crowd was surprised.
When she said she wanted to ride, the ranch owner shook his head and replied,
“It will hurt you. This is not the place for you.”
The little girl looked at the horse one more time and gently stroked his face.
She wasn’t crying because of the money.
She was crying because the one thing she wanted most was the chance to prove herself.
