A busy subway platform. A pregnant woman in a tan blazer stands alone, begging: “Can someone please just listen to me for one?” A manager with a headset cuts her off: “Whatever her situation, she simply cannot stay here.”
Tears stream down her face. Mascara running. The commuters stare.
Then an older woman in a work apron steps between them. She looks at the manager and says: “She is the bravest person in this room. Learn from that.”
The manager’s smug face collapses into shock. The pregnant woman breaks down — but this time, a hand rests on her shoulder.
