A busy ER. A pregnant woman pleads: “I have nowhere else to go. Please don’t turn me away.” A man in a suit cuts her off: “This is not a charity ward. She can go elsewhere.”
She breaks down, tears streaming. She’s alone.
Then a janitor walks up. His name tag says “Daniel.” He looks the man in the suit dead in the eye and says: “I have known her longer than this place has existed.”
The suit’s face goes from arrogance to shock. One sentence. The entire power dynamic flips.
