A Quiet Room and a Heart Full of Questions
Simba never imagined his world could fall silent so suddenly.
For four gentle, happy years, he believed his home was permanent and his family unshakable. He believed that love stayed where you left it. But love, at least the version he knew, disappeared in a moment that he still couldn’t understand.
The day he arrived at the shelter, he sat tucked into the back of the room, tail curled between his legs. The staff spoke to him in warm voices, but nothing could fill the space where his family’s laughter once lived. Simba kept glancing at the door—hoping, wishing, silently begging for someone he knew to walk through it.
Even then, a part of him already knew they weren’t coming back.
