The older woman stood in front of her, trembling, unable to understand what she had done wrong.
“Why are you treating me like this?” she asked.
The soldier froze.
For the first time, she didn’t look powerful. She looked ashamed.
“Because I was told to,” she said. “And I was wrong.”
Those words changed everything.
She had spent so long obeying orders that she never questioned who was telling the truth.
