In a scene reflecting themes of poverty and unexpected kindness,
two young, disheveled siblings stand outside an upscale, well-lit
bakery, looking longingly at the cakes in the display case.
A staff member dismisses them, stating, “We don’t sell leftovers
here.” As the children cling to one another, the young girl
tearfully whispers that she is hungry and begs her brother
not to leave. An older, impeccably dressed man approaches
the bakery and witnesses the scene. After briefly observing
the children, he turns to the shop employee and commands,
“Pack everything in the shop.” He then approaches the children,
kneels down to their level, and with a gentle gaze, asks the
boy for the young girl’s name.
